Devotion: An Infinite Journey
(Part 1)
This book is a concise interpretive summary of Saint Baba Maharaj Arvikar's text, Divyamritdhara.
While there is abundant literature in English discussing various interpretations of Jnana Yoga, Karma Yoga, and Bhakti Yoga from the Gita, Baba Maharaj’s in-depth, comparative, and detailed exposition—rooted in the Nath tradition’s blend of Yoga and Bhakti, and conveying the grace of the Guru through the lens of Hatha Yoga—is uniquely and profoundly insightful.
This book delves into various topics including: human life, worldly duties and the spiritual path, the essence of the true Guru, the stages of a seeker, different forms of worship and practices—their complexities or simplicity, dualism vs. non-dualism, love for the Guru, the Guru's grace, goal-oriented devotion, surrender, ego dissolution in the Guru principle, Guru devotion, and the understanding that liberation is not the final goal of devotion—even upon attaining oneness with the Divine, one must remain continuously immersed in devotion. Bhakti is the elixir of love between Guru and disciple. Many such profound topics have been explored through this work.
