Mrs. Vaishampayan from Solapur, like many others, had immense faith (shraddha) in Saint Baba Maharaj Arvikar. For the last eight to ten years of her life, she stayed in Machnur and continued her spiritual practice (sadhana) there.
When Baba was in physical form (deha), he would frequently visit Mr and Mrs. Vaishampayan. Mr. Vaishampayan was working with the rail service and as the breadwinner of the family, he was often busy working.
Once, Mrs. Vaishampayan fell seriously ill. She became extremely weak and couldn’t even hold a cup the size of a small oil container with both hands. She couldn’t eat anything either. And, there were young children in the house.
In these circumstances, Baba went to go stay with the family for a few days. While there, Baba began drinking a big glass of milk every day.
As the days passed, Mrs. Vaishampayan began to gain the strength of that milk. Eventually, after eight days, she got so much better that she was able to walk to the station herself to drop off Baba.
The whole family was incredibly grateful to Baba. Their faith (shraddha) strengthened.
Saint Baba Maharaj Arvikar is not only a sakshatkari saint and a great embodiment of the path of devotion (bhakti marg), but also a great yogi. Saint Dnyaneshwar's foundation was a rare blend of yogi and a loving nature, which is seen in Baba. Therefore, Baba often used his yogic powers to shower his beloved devotees with compassion.
Saint Baba Maharaj Arvikar says that faith, being created by saint’s grace (krupa), flows abundantly by the grace of god. Without the grace of saints, the grace of god does not happen. Faith dwells in an inner chamber of the heart, residing alongside the pran. Therefore, the bhakta within whom saint’s grace has been formed, god’s grace happens on that bhakta, then faith comes flowing in abundance.
