Why So Hesitant?

ree

In the early days following her first meeting with Saint Baba Maharaj Arvikar, Mrs. Anusuya Vibhute was very shy to go and get darshan from Baba.

Once, when she had gone to Machnur, she saw Baba walking in her direction with other people. But even then, her shyness led her to scramble to find a hiding spot, behind a tree, to avoid being seen. On her way home, she did end up going to see Baba for his darshan, but Baba didn’t say anything to her. He just kept looking elsewhere.

This happened a few more times, including later when Baba went to Mrs. Anusuya’s village -- Hupri. But then, when Baba had gotten into the car, ready to leave, Mrs. Anusuya’s host, Shankar Rao, told her to come for Baba’s darshan

As she got closer to the car, she saw that Baba had left the car door open and was sitting with his feet on the ground -- outside the car -- for darshan

Mrs. Anusuya got a very beautiful darshan. After that, Baba said to her, “Kay ga, why were you feeling so shy?”

In that moment, she realized that Baba had known and recognized everything, and she teared up, feeling light and relieved.

Saint Baba Maharaj Arvikar once said that the mind that is mad with divine love is difficult to calm without experiencing or receiving the darshan of god. In us, to the extent that we have a deep love for the divine, god is that close to us. He would say, 'I am aware that beings perhaps feel drawn to me. They long and yearn for any presence, or else their lives feel empty. Still I feel as though their paths of salvation are a part of my responsibility.' (loose translation of his quote).
